Instant Pot LID Error - Troubleshooting Guide
If your Instant Pot is showing a LID error, it usually means the lid is not properly detected. Here’s how you can fix it:
- Check Lid Alignment
Ensure the lid is properly closed and aligned. The steam release valve should be set to “Sealing” for pressure modes.
- Remove and Reseat the Lid
Open the lid, wait a few seconds, then place it back and secure it until it clicks.
- Check the Float Valve
Make sure the float valve isn’t stuck. Tap it lightly or clean it if needed.
- Inspect the Lid Sensor
Look for the small lid sensor inside the cooker. Clean it gently if it's dirty or obstructed.
- Try a Different Cooking Mode
Switch to a non-pressure mode like “Sauté” to see if the error persists.
- Reset the Instant Pot
Unplug it for 5 minutes, then plug it back in and try again.
If none of these steps help, the lid sensor or control board may be faulty. Contact Instant Pot support or consider replacing the lid (if possible for your model).
